In the high desert of Northern New Mexico, where the Sangre de Cristo Mountains catch the first light of dawn, lies a city that looks like no other in America. Santa Fe's skyline isn't defined by steel and glass, but by soft, round edges, earth-toned clay, and the rhythmic protrusion of vigas. The City Different aesthetic feels ancient, yet its preservation was never an accident of fate. It was a hard-fought victory led by one of the oldest preservation organizations in the United States: the Old Santa Fe Association.   — Edward Archuleta, Executive Director
