In the high desert of Northern New Mexico, where the Sangre de Cristo Mountains catch the first light of dawn, lies a city that looks like no other in America. Santa Fe's skyline isn't defined by steel and glass, but by soft, round edges, earth-toned clay, and the rhythmic protrusion of vigas. The City Different aesthetic feels ancient, yet its preservation was never an accident of fate. It was a hard-fought victory led by one of the oldest preservation organizations in the United States: the Old Santa Fe Association.

Join us for this once-in-a-century event.

ANNOUNCING . . .  Two Book Projects!

Adobe Town, Preserving Santa Fe's Sense of Time and Place by John C. Bienvenu. This book examines the complex narrative of competing cultural values and the never-ending negotiation between honoring history and accommodating the present. In addition to his work as an attorney and historian, Bienvenu also sits on the Historic Districts Review Board. Adobe Town will be published in early 2026.

Old Santa Fe Association: The First 100 Years (working title) celebrates OSFA's centenary looking backwards and forwards at the organization's inspirations, influences, and impacts. Essays and images will highlight many of the major players and initiatives that have driven OSFA's preservation-minded mission over the decades. Expected publication in late 2026.

Membership and Donations greatly appreciated as we seek funds to complete the anniversary book, and as we expand activities that include community engagement.

Sneak Preview of Going Santa Fe

a film by Anne Davis Mulford
at the historic Jean Cocteau Theater

Thursday, May 29, 6 to 9 pm
Tickets $25  •  Contributions support the film!
Going Santa Fe film screening will feature a 20 to 30 minute film-in-progress of select scenes, and a presentation that will include a Q&A with director Anne Mulford and a few of the film's stars.
"Going Santa Fe" is told through first-hand accounts, archival materials, and the lived experience of Anne Davis Mulford and her siblings — who came of age in 1960s Santa Fe as the children of two prominent business women (Ether Mulford and Claude James) whose romantic relationship remained largely private. This film seeks to reveal, honor, and preserve the untold stories of the many lesbian and gay individuals who were instrumental in shaping Santa Fe’s cultural and economic identity, stories that have long been overlooked despite their profound impact and vital role in the city’s history.
