"Going Santa Fe" is told through first-hand accounts, archival materials, and the lived experience of Anne Davis Mulford and her siblings — who came of age in 1960s Santa Fe as the children of two prominent business women (Ether Mulford and Claude James) whose romantic relationship remained largely private. This film seeks to reveal, honor, and preserve the untold stories of the many lesbian and gay individuals who were instrumental in shaping Santa Fe’s cultural and economic identity, stories that have long been overlooked despite their profound impact and vital role in the city’s history.
